Yellow Rock Cottage at the Sound of Islay

Yellow Rock Cottage, which sleeps two to three, is perhaps the most beautifully situated cottage on Islay. This stunning self catering house sits a few metres from the Sound of Islay, the water that separates Islay from the Isle of Jura. The ever changing views include the majestic Paps of Jura, the landmark of the Southern Hebrides and also includes the Isle of Mull.

Yellow Rock Cottage is the ultimate retreat for those seeking true peace and quiet, for those who want to step back in time to a place so natural and tranquil that you soon forget the hustle and bustle of daily life.

This is also a cottage with a rich history as it belonged to Lily MacDougall who lived in this cottage until she reached the age of 100 only last year. You can read more about her and the history of the cottage here

wifiWe offer a holiday as you’ve never experienced before: Complete silence, breathtaking views, wildlife on your doorstep and the occasional ferry, sailing- or fishing boat passing by. This is literally the place to sit and watch the world go by….. Electricity is free and oil for the heating is provided, as well as free WiFi.
